Diesel, 95 octane set to rise in October

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy on Sunday announced the fuel prices for October.

Next week Wednesday 95 octane petrol will increase by 18 cents a litre while diesel is set to increase by 25 cents a litre.

There is some relief for motorists using 93 octane petrol, which will see a decrease of four cents a litre.

The increase is mostly down to a higher international oil price. 

“The oil prices rose sharply after drones attacked two major oil facilities in Saudi Arabia namely, Abqaiq facility, which is the largest crude oil stabilization plant in the world, and the Khurais oil field, which is the second largest oil field in Saudi Arabia, operated by Saudi Aramco on the 14th of September 2019,” the department said in statement.
