Oil price jump likely to affect petrol price
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Automobile Association says there is a possibility oil prices could jump again leading to a possible increase in the fuel price.
But spokesperson Layton Beard says this seems highly unlikely to affect the figures for next month.
"The jump of the oil price and the weakening of the Rand would have to be extremely significant to cancel the decrease for July", he said.
"Having said that we must remember that nothing is impossible but at this stage it seems we are headed for a petrol price decrease", Beard said.
The association says mid-month data points to a 91 cent per litre decrease in the petrol price next month and 70 drop in the diesel price.
Illuminating paraffin is expected to go down by 62 cents a litre.
