Deputy National Police Commissioner fired following corruption allegations

Deputy National Police Commissioner Bonang Mgwenya has been fired following allegations of corruption.
Mgwenya was initially suspended from her duties after she was arrested by the NPA's Investigating Directorate on fraud, theft and money laundering charges. She appeared briefly in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 12th of October

Following due processes, the National Commissioner initially suspended Bonang Mgwenya on the 15th October during which time a departmental investigation was conducted.
Mgwenya was subsequently charged, found guilty and summarily dismissed yesterday.
The National Commissioner remains resolute in his efforts to clean the SAPS of any form of wrongdoing by members of all ranks.
