The KwaZulu-Natal Education Department says it is sending a task team to a primary school in Tinley Manor on the Dolphin Coast after receiving reports of overcrowding.

The department has been told of severe overcrowding there that has become unbearable.
Some classes allegedly have to accommodate around 120 pupils.
"Our district officers are going to collect as much information as needed and submit it to us so that we are able to deal with something that we have first-hand information about," said KwaZulu-Natal Education spokesperson, Kwazi Mthethwa.
Residents held protests outside Tinley Manor Primary School recently.

Mthethwa says about 1,400 children attend the school.
"It is very important that the process of learning and teaching continues. As much as members of the community are frustrated, it is the learners' Constitutional right to receive an education," he said.
The department will report back to the School Governing Body tomorrow.
