The family of slain Pietermaritzburg gospel singer, Delana Rawlins, has urged men in society to stand up against the scourge of gender-based violence.
Her brother Ramon Hammond gave an emotional speech at Rawlins's funeral service on Saturday, saying the abuse women endure at the hands of their partners is enough.
"There are people that are going to make it sound like it is ok or maybe because this one on done. There is no one that gives me the right to take someone's life."
Rawlins was shot and killed, allegedly by her estranged husband.
Police say the mother-of-three had been at a party when an argument broke out between the two.

She was gunned down in Ashburton after her husband allegedly stopped the car that was taking her home which was driven by her brother-in-law.
Ian Rawlins made his first appearance in court last week and plans to apply for bail on Tuesday..
One of Rawlins's daughters revealed the abuse her mother endured in her final speech that was read at the funeral service.
"I could see that this is not going to end well, and it didn't. Even when people used to ask you if you are okay. You use to turn your frown into a smile."
