Death toll from latest eThekwini floods remains at 9

eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda says the death toll from the recent heavy rains and floods that hit the city stands at nine.

Kaunda, who briefed members of the media in Durban on Thursday, released the details of a report on the impact of storms in and around the city.
He says they've been in touch with the affected families.

"The infrastructure damage the city has suffered amounts to R1.4 billion due to houses, roads and storm water, community halls and public health facilities that were damaged."
