Death toll from KZN floods now at 459

The death toll from the floods in KwaZulu-Natal has risen to 459.
According to premier Sihle Zikalala, three people lost their lives in the recent May floods.
"We still have 88 people who are missing with R25 billion damage to infrastructure. With more than 45 000 employees who are at home and not working because factories, especially in the Durban South basin, are still not operating."
Zikalala was briefing the media at King Shaka International Airport on Sunday on the interventions following the floods.

He said the process of building houses for those left homeless is continuing.
"We have to date, we have constructed over 131 Temporary Residential Units. That is the progress and the minister alluded to the fact that we are in need an appropriate land where can build houses for people."
