Death toll in horror PMB crash increases to 20

The death toll in yesterday's minibus taxi crash in Pietermaritzburg has risen to 20.
One of the victims has died in hospital.
Mkhambathini mayor, Eric Ngcongo says they received the news of the latest death while busy meeting with the victims' families in KwaXimba this afternoon.
"We received another call now, the number of deaths of the accident that happened yesterday has risen to 20," he said.
Ngcongo says the affected families will get assistance.
"We are with the Department of Transport, the Road Accident Fund and the families along with municipal managers and ward councillors to discuss how we can help the families with funerals," he says.

The brakes of the minibus apparently failed, causing it veer off the road and roll down an embankment in Msunduzi Valley.
Transport officials say the vehicle was overloaded.
