Mkhambathini Municipality to meet with families of taxi crash

The Mkhambathini Municipality is set to meet with the families of the victims of the crash near Msunduzi that claimed the lives of 19 people yesterday.
Mkhambathini mayor, Eric Ngcongo says the meeting will be held at the KwaXimba Community Hall.
"Today we are going to meet with the affected families to discuss how as the municipality can assist, along with the Department of Transport," he said.
Ngcongo says officials have already visited some of the injured victims in hospital.
"There were seven people who were visited yesterday. Four were at RK Khan, one at King Edward and another two at Edendale Hospital," he said.
The taxi crashed down an embankment yesterday afternoon. It had been transporting 26 people, mostly women, home from church.

Transport says investigations into the exact cause of the crash are underway.
Officials have identified overloading and suspected brake failure.
