DBE says ‘options available’ to matrics unhappy with exam marks
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The Department of Basic Education has appealed to matrics who didn't make it last year to consider enrolling for the Second Chance Matric Programme.

The Class of 2023 achieved a pass rate of 82.9% in the final National Senior Certificate assessments.
The department's Elijah Mhlanga says candidates who want to rewrite their NSC subject, or the extended Senior Certificate can do so between May and June.

He says there are options available for those who didn't get the results they were hoping for.
"The first one is to apply for a remark of the script; they could also for a recheck or even a rewrite through the Second Chance Matric Support Programme, which they need to apply for via the district office or online so that they are able to have a second chance for writing the exam."
