DA, COPE call on SABC to fire Motsoeneng
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Supporters from the DA and Cope have gathered at the SABC's head office in Auckland Park to demand the resignation of the public broadcaster's controversial former COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng.

The DA has also called on the SABC Board to be dissolved.
This comes after Motsoeneng was reappointed as Group Executive of Corporate Affairs following a decision by the Supreme Court of Appeal to uphold an earlier ruling that his appointment as COO was unlawful.
DA Leader Mmusi Maimane said they will pursue legal action if SABC chairperson Mbulaheni Maghuve does not fire Motsoeneng within 48 hours.
"We have drafted a memorandum addressed to the SABC's Chair, Professor Mbulaheni Maghuve, calling for him to ensure Motsoeneng is fired immediately, and to dissolve the Board - which rehired Motsoeneng in his new role and is complicit in many of Motsoeneng's shenanigans," Maimane said.
