DA back in the high court challenging ICC withdrawal
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
This morning the High Court in Pretoria will hear from government council and President Jacob Zuma on the DA's move to challenge government's decision to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The council for the Democratic Alliance yesterday argued that SA's decision to retracts its membership is unlawful and cannot be remedied after the fact.
The opposition party has questioned why the executive did not take more time with the process before officially withdrawing from the ICC.

Council Steven Budlender also argued that the government does not have the power to withdraw us from any such agreement - constitutionally this is up to Parliament.
"The suggestion either that the executive will consult now or that Parliament will consult now does no good because the act of the executive to withdraw, was already invalid and it can't be cured after the fact of consultation," he said.
