On the dinner Ramaphosa attended, the Presidency says 35 guests were at a Joburg hotel for Saturday's fundraising event.

It was hosted by the Adopt-a-School Foundation, a partner entity of the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation.

It says they adhered strictly to Covid-19 protocols and directives on screening, social distancing and the wearing of masks.

The Presidency says Ramaphosa removed his mask only when dining and addressing guests.

Meanwhile, the school foundation says a guest had shown symptoms on Sunday and went for a test the next day, before receiving a positive result yesterday.

The President was made aware of the diagnosis hours after he'd attended events at OR Tambo International Airport and Ekurhuleni yesterday.
