Culprits who attacked Durban Solid Waste driver ‘must be brought to book’
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The DA in KZN has questioned the safety measures implemented for municipal officials delivering services following an attack on a Durban Solid Waste driver.

On Monday, the driver was held at gunpoint by unknown suspects while doing his rounds in Umlazi's B-section.
eThekwini metro police say the driver was chased out of the vehicle before it was set on fire.

"Residents have the right to various services from the city, and any form of action that seeks to threaten service delivery must be investigated and culprits brought to book,” said Umlazi PR Councillor Nomfundo Khubone.
She said the incident added to the issues facing DSW, which has been without permanent leadership for the past two years.
"The city's failure to fill the position shows the ANC-EFF partnership does not prioritise service delivery."
