Hearings into last month's unrest are underway behind closed doors in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.

The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious, and Linguistic Communities says it began hearing testimony on Wednesday.
It says it's part o efforts to get to the bottom of the violence that claimed over 300 lives.
The commission's spokesperson, Mpiyakhe Mkholo, says the hearings are being held without the media or members of the public sitting in for security reasons.
