Covid cases in KZN schools 'exploding' - Naptosa
Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
The National Professional Teachers' Organisation of South Africa (Naptosa) says it's been taken aback by the rise in Covid-19 infections in primary and high schools in KwaZulu-Natal.

It's also concerned about the number of schools that have had to close.
Several schools in the province have been forced to close temporarily due to cases among pupils and teachers.
In Durban alone, it's believed that at least three schools closed this week after learners tested positive.
"I can tell in Pietermaritzburg there's a number of schools have been closed," Naptosa's Basil Manuel says.

"Some schools haven't closed because the infections have been located in a class and the children are known not to have moved around.
"I was in Phoenix, Stanger, Umbumbulu and Chatsworth and all of the reported on numbers of schools and numbers of infections.
"So it does appear as though the numbers are simply just exploding."
