The Department of Health says the administration of Covid-19 booster shots for healthcare workers under the Sisonke programme is set to resume on Wednesday.

It has been delayed by two days.

The campaign was supposed to have continued on Tuesday but instead was postponed to Wednesday.

According to spokesperson Foster Mohale, this was caused by glitches in the system.

He's encouraged healthcare workers who haven't done so to register for the booster shots.

"We'd like to appeal to all our health care workers who are due for the booster shot that the system will officially go live tomorrow.

"We have been testing the system since yesterday, to make sure all our ducks are in a row. We'll be sending out the second SMS with the link where they will need to confirm so that they can receive a voucher code.

"They will need to take it to the nearest dedicated vaccination site for Sisonke booster dose."
