COVID-19 hits Pinetown Magistrate's Court

Pinetown Magistrate's Court has closed its doors for the week following a positive case of COVID-19.

The Justice and Correctional Services Department says decontamination of the building started on Wednesday.
The court is expected to reopen on Monday.

However, the department's Chrispin Phiri says the Magistrate Court will be partially operational for certain matters.
"Only domestic violence matters will be dealt with.
"Contact tracing has commenced, and we hope that the individual who contacted the virus heals quickly, but most importantly, we hope that the resumption of services also takes place relevantly quick."
