Covid-19 contact tracing intensified after outbreak at KZN convent
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KZN Health says it's roped other districts in to assist with contact tracing - after a Covid-19 outbreak at a Catholic convent on the South Coast.
Nine elderly nuns from the Daughters of St Francis of Assisi Convent in Port Shepstone have died.
They were diagnosed with the virus after a gathering at the church two weeks ago.
Twenty-five nuns have tested positive and are in quarantine.
The KZN Health Department says other districts have stepped in to help people from other parishes - who also attended the event.

The Convent's Sister Dominica Mkhize says they're under a lot of strain.
"The situation appeals for assistance, namely medical staff, to be added, as well as additional caregivers and more PPEs.
"The staff of our old age home cannot cope with the amount of work that is there now, whereas the normal duties of the old age home still have to be attended too."
