COVID-19: 28 teachers, five learners test positive in KZN schools
A total of 28 teachers and five learners have tested positive for COVID-19 in KZN's schools.
Premier Sihle Zikalala says there are cases at 28 schools across the province.
Speaking at a media briefing in Maritzburg yesterday, Zikalala said 14 of the affected schools will re-open today after all safety protocols have been adhered to.
He says schools would have been disinfected.
Along with the process of contact tracing, tests are being done.
"The highest is Umlazi district with seven. Let me clarify that the district is not a township but it is a district that is part of Durban South coming to Durban west," he said.

"The lowest where there are no cases of infected teachers and learners is Amajuba and UmKhanyakude."
Meanwhile, KZN Education spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi says, they are aware of notices issued about learners at Gardenia Primary School in Wentworth and John Ross College in Richards Bay having contracted coronavirus.
He says not all schools have had to close.
"The school is treated like any place, once there is a case that is reported there is protocol that is being followed in terms of tracing and testing, disinfection, before anyone can reoccupy the schools."
