The KwaZulu-Natal Education Department has sent a team of counsellors to Marklands Secondary School in Shallcross, near Chatsworth south of Durban.

The department says many pupils and staff witnessed the hijacking outside the school in Himalaya Drive that claimed the life of 9-year-old Sardia Sukhraj this morning.
Education's Muzi Mahlambi says the psychological unit was dispatched to the school to conduct a trauma debriefing.
Sardia and her father were hijacked outside a family member's home.
Her father was pulled out of the vehicle, but the suspects fled while she was still inside.
She sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and later died in hospital.
The suspects crashed the vehicle into a truck in Caucasus Street.
Police at the scene confirmed that one suspect died and a second was arrested.
