Counselling, support for pupils left traumatised after fatal shooting

Pupils at a Pietermaritzburg school who witnessed the murder of their deputy principal will start receiving counselling today.

Police say Priscilla Thembelihle was gunned down by two men while she was teaching a matric class at Laduma High School on Saturday.  


Thembelihle suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead on the scene.

Spokesperson for KZN Education, Muzi Mahlambi says their officials will be at the school today. 


"We are very disturbed by the sad news that one of our acting principals, the deputy principal, in the uMgungundlovu District was gunned down in front of the learners in the classroom," he said. 


Police are appealing to members of the public who might have information on the shooting to contact their nearest police station.
