Cosatu to take to streets of Durban on Friday

Today is World Day for Decent Work and trade union federation Cosatu in KZN is taking a stand and to the streets against what it says is the exploitation of the average worker.

It also says the mobilisation on Friday is against monopoly control by Massmart as well as against the privatisation at Transnet and Prasa and the outsourcing and retrenchments at refinery SAPREF.

Cosatu KZN's Edwin Mkhize says they will gather at the King DiniZulu Park in the Durban CBD before going about their strategic route.
"Starting at King Dinuzulu on the way down Pixley Ka Seme, formerly West Street. We will hand over a memorandum at Game.
"Then all to eMtateni outside at the port by the park we will be handing over the memorandum to Transnet, SAPREF and Prasa."

"We have invited the MEC for Transport. So that is how we are going to be embarking on this international day for decent work as part of our Cosatu national programme of action."
