eThekwini metro police ‘ready’ for national shutdown marches

The eThekwini Metro Police Department says officers will be deployed to various intersections in the CBD during tomorrow's national shutdown march.
Trade union federations Cosatu and Saftu will protest the high cost of living and the ongoing load shedding crisis in major cities and towns.
In Durban, workers will march to City Hall to hand over a memorandum.
Metro police spokesperson Boysie Zungu says officers will be on hand to control traffic at intersections.

"Tomorrow there will be a planned Cosatu march from King Dinizulu Park upon Pixi KeSeme to City Hall. There will be no road closures, all intersections will be managed by police officers.
"However, we still advised the motorist to avoid Pixley ka Seme to avoid delays.
