Hundreds of workers taking part in Cosatu's national strike have started making their way through the Durban CBD.
The trade union federation called the march to protests job losses in both the public and private sectors.
Cosatu KZN’s Edwin Mkhize says they want to see concrete plans from government to saving jobs and reducing unemployment.
Meanwhile, the SACP's second Deputy General Secretary Solly Mapaila says the alliance has set up a task team to look into the ‘unbundling’ of Eskom.
He's has joined the Cosatu in Johannesburg.
"We have said whatever happens in that process, it must be on the foundation that Eskom will remain in the hands of the State and that there will be no job losses. That has been articulated several times.
"Even at the ANC Lekgotla, the president reaffirmed that. So there should be no basis to worry about the privatisation of Eskom. It won't happen."
