Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Police have confirmed they've arrested a Durban man on charges of rape and kidnapping, nearly a month after the parents of a 13-year-old girl he disappeared with - opened a case against him.
The 34-year-old man and the child - who is his neighbour - went missing from their Cornubia homes at the beginning of this month.
The girl's parents raised the alarm after realising her clothes were missing.
They approached their neighbour for help - only to be told by the suspect's wife that he too was missing.

The man and the child were traced to Richards Bay a day later by police.
The girl's parents opened a case of rape and kidnapping later that week.
Police say the man was arrested in Dundee on Tuesday.
He's expected to make his first appearance in the Verulam Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
