Cops weren't involved in OR Tambo heist: Phahlane
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Acting National Police Commissioner, Kgomotso Phahlane, has rubbished claims that members of the police were involved in last night's multi-million rand heist at OR Tambo International Airport.
An estimated R24-million was stolen by suspects who were dressed in police uniforms, and drove vehicles marked similarly to those of police.

Phahlane - along with Police Minister Nathi Nhleko, and Community Safety MEC, Mxolisi Kaunda, were in Richmond this afternoon to address various community issues.
When asked for an update on investigations around the heist and allegations police may have been involved - suggesting an inside job - Phalane said the claims were bogus.
"There is that allegation that the police were involved. We are told there was a marked police vehicle, and another one with blue lights. I'm told that two of those vehicles are recovered, somewhere in Gauteng, and it doesn't support the allegations," he said.
