Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
The four police officers accused of killing Mthokozisi Ntumba have been granted bail.
The 35-year-old Ntumba was shot while passing by a student protest near Wits University in Braamfontein earlier this month.
The officers are facing charges of murder, attempted murder and defeating the ends of justice.
The accused have each been granted R8000 bail by the Johannesburg Magistrate Court.
Judge Sipho Sibanyoni says there's no evidence produced in court to prove they are flight risks.

"All four applicants have indicated that they are employed and are able to pay bail and will abide by bail conditions.
"No concrete evidence before the court that if released on bail, the applicants will undermine the workings of the criminal justice system. Including the bail system, there is no evidence if released on bail the four will commit schedule 1 crimes."
