Cope welcomes appointment of new IEC chair Mosotho Moepya

The Congress of the People says the lack of transformation at the Independent Electoral Commission remains a concern.
The political party says the appointment of Mosotho Moepya as IEC chairperson is welcomed with caution.
It says the IEC needs to start giving young people a chance to introduce innovative strategies.
Moeopya has officially taken over as the chairperson after the position was left vacant for six months.

He was appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Friday.
"We can't have recycling all the time," says Cope's Dennis Bloem.
"We dont think there is a shortage of competent and experienced people in this country. The IEC needs young blood, new faces. The IEC must build new leaders for the future."
