Updated | By Newswatch
A police officer has been
killed and two women left hurt after robbers hit two jewellery stores at the
Pavilion shopping centre in Westville.

Details on how the events unfolded aren't clear at this stage, but it's understood that the officer was shot and critically wounded outside the mall on Sunday evening.
"At the entrance of the mall, a police officer sustained gunshot wounds. He was in critical condition and rushed to a hospital.
"Unfortunately, due to the injuries he sustained he passed away a short while later," said ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.
He said the women were treated inside the centre.
