Cop arrested after murder of 3 civilians in KZN

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is investigating the circumstances surrounding a triple killing in the KZN Midlands.

The police watchdog says three people were murdered -- allegedly -- as a result of police action in Phuphuma on Saturday.
IPID spokesperson Ndileka Cola says a police officer has been taken into custody for alleged involvement.

"The IPID investigators responded swiftly to the crime scene to conduct an investigation.
"The South African Police Services arrested the police officer who is alleged to have caused the death of three deceased persons.
"IPID is gathering more valuable information relating to this incident through its investigation process." says Cola.
