Constitution's 20th anniversary celebrated in Parliament

South Africans are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the country's Constitution today.

Dignitaries and MPs marked the occasion in Parliament earlier.

National Assembly Speaker, Baleke Mbete told the youth that the country's fate is in their hands - saying it is a cool thing for young people to put the national flag on their hearts.
Mbete urged the youth to leave their mark on the country's political and economic development.
The Constitution was adopted in May 1996, approved by the ConCourt that December, and officially took effect on the 4th of February 1997.
Cope's Mosiuoa Lekota touched on the land issue that's currently making headlines again. The MP cautioned earlier against just taking land.
