KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala is worried that the upcoming winter school break may lead to another spike in Covid-19 infections in the province.
He says the second wave happened during the holidays when people travelled to the province last year.
"The current increase in cases is driven, to a large extent, by school and family clusters. You will remember the student activity in Ballito and other areas so we are quite concerned about that and that's why we are saying while we will welcome people who are coming from other provinces we will be strict
Briefing the media in Mayville on the latest Covid-19 developments on Sunday, Zikalala's said while KZN hasn't yet reached its peak.

eThekwini, UMgungundlovu, UThukela, Amajuba and UMzinyathi continue to record the highest number of cases daily.
"About a month ago, KwaZulu-Natal was registering an average of 130 to 150 new infections. Sometimes, our infections would go as low as 70 to 80 or so.
"But over the past two weeks or so, we have been recording more than 500 new cases each day; with only a few exceptions, where the number would be around 400,” said Zikalala.
