Community urged to oppose attacks on women

The ANC Youth League in KZN have taken to the streets in order to take a stand against the abduction and killing of women.

They are urging parents and other members of society to do the same.
The march culminated at the Durban City Hall.

Several speakers - including members of the clergy - have also called on police to do more to help stop the violence.
This as police in eShowe are still trying to track down the killers of a 14-year-old school girl.

Luyando Mhlongo's body was found in sugarcane fields a day after she'd been reported missing. She'd been raped, strangled and stabbed.
Mhlengi Mabuya of the Congress of South African Students says this can't go on.
"We can't be quiet while our members in that school don't arrive at school because of these hooligans who want to kidnap them, they don't arrive at school because they are scared to walk the miles and to even play around the community," he said.
