Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The Citrus Growers Association is predicting a fruitful season despite ongoing challenges.

It's expecting exports to grow by around 4%.
CEO Justin Chadwick says it's good news for our economy.
"The indications are that we will export about 32.3 million cartons of lemons, 58.2 million cartons of valencias, 14.8 million cartons of grapefruit and just over 28 million cartons of navels. There's a slight increase of the previous year."

He says the sector is currently facing some hurdles.
They include soaring fuel and fertiliser costs due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and operational challenges at the country's ports.
Chadwick says government needs to come on board to make sure produce makes it through the ports.
