Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Durban police are trying to determine what exactly led to the death of a teenager after the car he was driving plunged from a bridge in Chatsworth.

It is believed the 18-year-old had been travelling along Higginson Highway with a passenger on Sunday night, when he lost control of the car.
The vehicle went over the bridge and landed on a road below.
Police spokesperson captain Nqobile Gwala says when authorities arrived, they found the car had been stripped of its engine and other parts.
“The driver and the passenger were transported to a local hospital for medical attention and the driver later succumbed to his injuries in hospital,” Gwala says.
A case of culpable homicide has since been opened.
Police are appealing to anyone that witnessed the accident or has any information which could assist police in their investigations, to contact Detective Constable Magoso at SAPS Chatsworth on 031 451 4230 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.ALSO READ: Culpable homicide case opened after N2 crash
