Parts of the area, south of Durban, have been struggling with supply for days.
The city says a major pipe has burst, affecting supply to one on the reservoirs.
Roshnee Govender is a resident of Kharwastan.
She says their water has been on and off for the last two weeks with little information from the municipality.

"When we call them is always a burst pipe in a different area and the latest feedback we have is that there is not enough water in the reservoir.
"So there are concerns as to what backup plans do the municipality have. It has been really stressful because we have to go to the garage to buy drinking water, obviously, we need water for bathing and a whole lot of other stuff, so it's been really stressful we having to go to relatives homes that do have water and collect water from there."
The Democratic Alliance says it's clear eThekwini's Water and Sanitation unit is failing to deliver on its mandate.
It says the acting city manager must do a complete clean-up and bring on board people who can do the job.
