Chatsworth residents want a man who's been charged with the rape of his young daughter - to be denied bail.
The nine-year-old reported the rape to her teacher who then contacted police.
The 50-year-old father appeared before the Chatsworth Magistrates Court yesterday where the matter was adjourned until next week for a formal bail application.
Commenting on the matter - the TEARS Foundation, a non-profit organisation that offers support to the victims of rape and sexual abuse, says children must be supported when they report incidents of abuse.
Residents protested outside court, telling Newswatch they want the man to remain behind bars.
