Chatsworth community in shock after death of former principal
The Chatsworth community is reeling after a former school principal was murdered and her husband critically hurt in a violent home invasion this week.
Former Southlands Secondary principal, Gona Pillay died at the scene, while her husband remains in hospital.
The couple was attacked by a group of suspects posing as potential home buyers on Wednesday night.
The Bayview CPF's Brandon Pillay says the community is in disbelief.
"The community is in a state of shock. It was just so gruesome, the manner in which this attack took place. I think now that it's settled down, it's more sadness," he said.

He says Pillay had a great impact on the community.
"The entire Chatsworth community knew Mrs Pillay because of the work she did. There will definitely be a memorial of some sort, particularly because of the contribution that she has made," said Pillay.
Police are urging anyone with additional information on the incident to come forward with assistance.
