CEO aims to improve King Edward Hospital system
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
The newly appointed CEO at King Edward VIII Hospital in Durban says he's looking forward to improving the facility's systems to better serve communities.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health announced this week that Dr Thami Mayise will take up the role from tomorrow.
Mayise has previously run strategic programmes focusing on HIV and Aids - as well as TB. He's also run other provincial hospitals. The 41-year-old takes over from Dr Mandla Mazizi who recently retired.
Mayise says repair work to the hospital after the severe Durban Storm in 2017 is still ongoing.

Once completed, he says the focus will be on improving the hospital's processes.
"I'm upbeat that by the end of the year, we will be working on improving the systems because the infrastructure will be much improved," Mayise said.
