Dube-Ncube they have introduced Operation Bounce Back, a plan aimed at curbing wasteful spending, in an effort to achieve this.
The Auditor General found that some municipalities are not doing enough to collect revenue from their customers.
Municipal funds also continue to bleed due to the lack of infrastructure maintenance.
Dube-Ncube says they have identified that illegal activities remain costly for many municipalities in our province.

She wants to further investigate how large amounts of municipal money continues to go down the drain.
"A lot of wastage is because of illegal connections, that's illegal connections of water, and electricity. What we observe is that they go to municipalities and maybe disconnect the households. The minute they move out, people reconnect illegally. We have asked that there should be cases that are opened and we want to see prosecutions," she said.
