Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Public Order Police say they've managed to calm the situation on the R617 between Bulwer to Underberg where a protest is happening.
The protesting residents had blockaded the road with burning tyres and vehicles.
SAPS spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says it's unclear what their grievances are.

"The community of the Gqumeni area located on the R617 forced out two truck drivers and used the trucks to block the road."
No serious incidents were reported.
"The Public Order Police and Bulwer SAPS are at the scene to monitor and stabilise the situation. The road is still blocked and we advise motorists to use alternate routes."
