Call for govt, private sector to band together to create jobs

A national youth programme says the fight against unemployment would benefit from special initiatives between government and the private sector.

CEO of the Youth Employment Service, Ravi Naidoo says it is important for them to work hand in hand to create more jobs.

"To reduce unemployment rates substantially, you would need to ensure that there is economic growth and more special initiatives between government and the private sector to create employment and also to build particular sectors."
He has been commenting on the labour force survey results, which showed a slight decline in the unemployment rate bringing it to 32.6%.
