The 29-year-old continued his bid for bail in the Durban Magistrate's Court yesterday with prosecutors revealing that police are investigating at least eight cases of fraud against him.

This is in addition to the 16 charges he's facing in connection with Lee's disappearance and subsequent death in January - as well as other crimes against women.

The accused has also been called to answer various charges relating to alleged environmental transgressions at his diesel processing plant - Better Fuels - in Germiston.

Public prosecutor, Sureka Marimuthu says the fraud cases levelled against the accused centre around a dodgy investment scheme.

She says the scheme was set up under the guise of a distributor training programme for Better Fuels.

Marimuthu says complainants allege they were swindled out of amounts ranging from 5000 to R25 000.

At least eight cases have been opened here in KZN and Gauteng. Marimuthu says most date back to 2016 and 2017.
