Brutal murder of KZN mother leaves family reeling

The family of slain KwaZulu-Natal woman Lindeni Ngubane says the manner in which she was killed has left them even more devastated.

The 29-year-old's body was found in a shallow grave near a tavern in Mbonambi after she was reported missing earlier this month.
The mother-of-two was laid to rest on Tuesday.
Ngubane’s boyfriend has been arrested on charges of murder and rape.

Her grandmother, Gogo Ntombizodwa, says she never imagined her granddaughter to die in such a brutal manner.
"Nowadays, we know it's very hard to challenge this generation's ways of doing things, but as a family, we never expected our child to be killed like this.
"And what bothers us the most is that we only learned out about her beheaded remains on social media. We also urged our government to get rid of unlicensed taverns because we believe our daughter died while coming from the tavern next to the bush where she was discovered. We are really hurting."
