Brookside Mall arson instigator found guilty

Judgment has been handed down in the case against the man said to be behind the burning down of the Brookside Mall in Pietermaritzburg during the unrest two years ago.

Ndumiseni Zuma has been found guilty in the Pietermaritzburg Regional Court.
The 35-year-old has been convicted of incitement to commit public violence and incitement to commit arson.

Zuma was arrested in an operation involving members of the Hawks and Crime Intelligence following the riots.
He was seen in video footage encouraging people to loot.
