Updated | By Nondumiso Dube
A man is behind bars following a breakthrough in a Richards Bay murder case.
Forty-eight-year-old Judia Mbuyazi was shot and killed at a mall in 2020.
KwaZulu-Natal police believe Mbuyazi's murder is connected to a number of incidents where people linked to Richards Bay Minerals were being targeted.
KZN police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says an intelligence-driven operation on Tuesday led to the arrest of 40-year-old Omega Khulani Ngubane.

"This arrest follows an intensive investigation by the team which required a lot of hard work and dedication under extremely difficult circumstances and more arrests can be expected.
"The accused appeared at Richards Bay Magistrates Court yesterday and the matter was postponed to 15 March 2022 for a formal bail application.
"The accused will be profiled to establish if he is linked to any of the other cases investigated by the team."
