'Brave' guards praised for foiling CIT robbery near Richmond

SBV services have heaped praise on three of its security guards for their bravery and remaining calm during an attempted cash-in-transit heist near Richmond in the KZN Midlands.
The guards were transporting money in Ixopo on Monday when they were ambushed by an unknown number of gunmen in a vehicle.
They came under fire, and one of SBV's security personnel was wounded.
No cash was taken.

National police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says they are investigating cases of attempted murder and attempted robbery.
"The suspects are alleged to have fired shots to the cash-in-transit vehicle and wounded a 39-year-old driver before fleeing the scene.
"Two of the vehicles which was used by the suspects were reported to have been hijacked on Monday morning. The injured guard was taken to hospital for treatment."
