6 more nabbed following R1.5m Hilton drug bust

Six men arrested in connection with a major drug bust near Hilton have been remanded in custody and their case postponed to next week.
They appeared in court in Pietermaritzburg on Monday.
The suspects were rounded up over the weekend, bringing the total number of people nabbed to eight .
Last October, a vehicle that was travelling from Gauteng to Pietermaritzburg was intercepted on the N3 and 30 000 mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R1.5 million found in it.

The two occupants, 42-year-old Zolile Zikalala and 26-year-old Katlego Phahlane were arrested.
They are currently out on bail.
The Hawks' investigation led to more people being taken into custody in Pietermaritzburg six months later.
Five of them were arrested on Saturday and the sixth on Sunday.
