Brand new luxury Merc seized, man arrested for Sassa fraud

A Durban man found in possession of 70 SASSA cards is due to make his first appearance in court this morning on charges of fraud.

Officers say the 47-year-old was arrested while withdrawing money from different SASSA cards at an ATM on Anton Lembede Street in Durban on Saturday.
Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says the suspect was also driving a luxury car which he apparently bought recently.
"Cash of R 7 640 was also recovered. His vehicle was also seized by police."

"Further investigation conducted by the team led them to the suspect’s residence in Umhlanga where a USB stick was found after being thrown own of the window. It was seized by police for further investigation."
The suspect was placed under arrest for fraud as well as possession of stolen property.
